Obituary

Major James A. Goodson of Duxbury passed away on May 1, 2014, 11 days after his beloved wife of 62 years, Gwendoline Goodson. Loving father of James Goodson Jr. and daughter in law Paula of Marshfield. Loving grandfather of Victoria of New York and James and Ali, both of Marshfield. Son of the late James A. and Gertrude (Meeres) Goodson.
James was a USAAF fighter pilot in Debden, England during WW2. After the war, he was an executive for Goodyear Tire's European operations. After a stint with Hoover Headquarters in Zug, Switzerland, he then joined International Telephone and Telegraph until his retirement as President of Consumer Products and Corporate Vice President for ITT. He retired to Duxbury, Massachusetts to write of his war experiences.
A graveside service will be held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Friday, May 9 at 1:45 p.m.
