Lawrence A. Erbentraut, age 86, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Palmer Health Care Center. He was born on June 10, 1927 in White Water, Wisconsin, a son of the late Wesley and Edith (Scheiby) Erbentraut. He joined the US Army Air Corps in 1945. Lawrence ran his own machine business called Larrys Sharp Shop, for 20 years. He also worked at the former Hamilton Standard before he retired. Lawrence leaves his loving wife Betty Erbentraut of Palmer, 3 sons, Michael Erbentraut of Eugene Oregon, John Erbentraut of North Carolina and Gregory Erbentraut of West Springfield; 6 grandchildren, Matthew, Denise, Lindsey, Phillip, Steven and Westin along with 10 great grandchildren. He also leaves a former daughter in law Cherylynn Butler of Tolland. He is predeceased by his son Steven Erbentraut who passed away in 1969 and also by his sister Helen Clark. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 9-11 a.m. at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by a prayer service at 11 am. Burial will follow in St Michael Cemetery.
