Frances Faye Phillips “Granny” Nall, a resident of Georgetown, Georgia, passed away May 2, 2014 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 89.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2014 at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Dr. Phil Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Nall was born March 22, 1925 in Nashville, Georgia where she spent her childhood. After her marriage to Calvin Griner, she resided in Brunswick, Georgia for several years before moving to Fitzgerald where she spent most of her adult life. She recently moved to Georgetown to be with her daughter. Mrs. Nall was employed as a meat cutter all of her working life at several grocery stores including Winn Dixie, Harvey’s and Red & White Grocery. She attended Fitzgerald Church of God and later moved her letter to Shiloh Baptist Church in Ft. Gaines, Georgia.
She is predeceased by her husbands, Calvin Griner of Brunswick and Farel Nall of Fitzgerald and also a son, James Edwin Griner of Brunswick.
She is survived by a daughter, Leata Gleaton (Bill) of Georgetown, GA; 6 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jessica Fletcher of Thomasville, GA and brother, Edwin Phillips of Ashburn, GA.
