Obituary

Lawrence P. “Larry” Kimball, 65 of Medford, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly Wednesday April 30th in the Winchester Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Born in Winchester, he was a lifelong resident of Medford, growing up in the Hillside neighborhood. Larry graduated in 1960 from Medford High School and in 1964 earned his degree from Emerson College. He was always interested in video, recording and TV production. Larry enjoyed a thirty year career as a video tape editor in the TV production department at WBZ-TV, Boston. He retired in 2012. He was also an avid fan of Elvis, Johnny Cash and the like. Larry was a compassionate caregiver to his late wife and to his family. A man with a heart of gold, he will be greatly missed.

The beloved husband of the late Joanne (Doherty) Kimball, who passed away in February, he was the cherished son of Rose (Desmond) of Medford and the late Ernest Kimball. He leaves his siblings: John Kimball of Plymouth, Edwin Kimball of North Carolina, Anne Edgerly of Andover and is predeceased by his brother Donald Kimball. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday May 6th at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4-8. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent in Lawrence’s name to the Floating Hospital for Children Fund, C/O Tufts Medical Center Trust, 800 Washington St., Boston, MA 02111.
