Obituary

GLOUCESTER - Colleen M. (Gillie) Deveau, 73, died at her home on Wednesday afternoon, April 30, 2014, following an extended illness. She was the wife of Robert P. Deveau.
Born in Gloucester on March 15, 1941, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Landry) Gillie. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and graduate of the Gloucester High School class of 1960.
She had been employed as a lab technician at the Addison Gilbert Hospital and worked at both the former LePages, Inc. and Gorton’s of Gloucester before devoting herself to caring for her children.
In addition to her husband of forty-one years, she is survived by two daughters, Dr. Jill Deveau and Megan Deveau; a sister, Susan Cunningham; sister-in-law, Doris, wife of Ronald Jesso; brothers-in-law, David, husband of Virginia Deveau and Charles Brackett; and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her sister, Beverly Brackett; brother, Bart Gillie mother and father-in-law, Catherine and John Deveau; and brother-in-law, Capt. Bill Cunningham.
The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to her caregivers, Leah and Holly and nurse Vicky Wilson for the care and comfort given Colleen and her family.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no services.
