Carol Gossett Kornegay, age 64, formerly of Oxford, MS, died Friday, April 25, 2014 in Cherokee Village, AR. She was born November 19, 1949 to the late Bennie Nolan and Wynona Trammel Gossett. Carol was a homemaker and enjoyed arts and crafts, country music and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Delay Baptist Church in Lafayette County, MS.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Delay Baptist Church in Lafayette County, MS with Bro. Sammy Gossett officiating. Burial will be in the Delay Baptist Church cemetery with Jeff Michelletti, Chris Gossett, Barry Gossett, Andy Gossett, Hunter Gossett and Josh Gossett serving as pallbearers. Greg DePriest will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Melissa Michelletti of Oxford, MS; two sons, Jeff Michelletti (Mary Ann) of Leland, NC and Greg DePriest of Tupelo, MS; her brothers, Bennie Gossett (Lynette) of Tula, MS, Barry Gossett (Donna) of Oxford, MS and Eddie Gossett (Tabrina) of Henderson, TX; her dear friend, Susie McCain (Steve) of Paris, MS; one grandchild and four step-grandchildren.
