Obituary

Ralph “Emmett” Tucker, Jr., 84, lived in Bridgewater, Whitman, Hanson and Bourne. He was the beloved husband of sixty three years to Joan (Higgins) Tucker.

He was born in Bourne, son of the late Ralph E., Sr. and Ida (Anderson) Tucker.

Emmett was a graduated of Whitman High School class of 1947. He served his country in the Korean War from 1952-1954.Emmett worked as an electrician for his father-in-law Byron M. Higgins and also for the Whitman School Department in his later years.

He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Whitman for over 50 years. Emmett liked to hunt, fish and worked around the house.

They had two daughters, Susan Tucker Cox, who predeceased him and Jane Tucker O’Connell of Bridgewater, also two grandchildren Karyn E. O’Connell Enos and Geoffrey E. O’Connell, both of Bridgewater, his great-grandchild Donovan Enos. He also leaves his sister, Joanne Tucker Laurin of Sagamore Beach, also a few aunts, uncles, several nieces, nephews and many cousins.

His funeral service will be held on Friday May 2nd at 10:00AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St.(Rte 58 @ the rotary circle) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visitation will be on Thursday May 1st from 4:00-8:00PM.
