Obituary

GLOUCESTER – Sandra A. “Sandy” Hitchcock, 49, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 26, 2014. She was the fiancée of Salvatore Benson.
Born in Boston on June 8, 1964, she was the daughter of the late Richard W. and Carol J. (McKee) Hitchcock. She was raised in Beverly and was a graduate of the Beverly High School.
Sandy had been a resident of Gloucester for the past twenty years. She was formerly employed by Varian. Most recently she worked as a waitress at the Morning Glory Coffee Shop.
She enjoyed boating and motorcycles and was fond of animals of all types. Sandy loved the music of Neil Young and spending time with friends and family. She will be remembered for her smile and cheerful and outgoing personality.
In addition to Sal, she is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth, wife of George Frost and Linda A. Ross, companion of Brian Raftery; a niece, Kristina Wright; a nephew, Steven Wright; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was also predeceased by her longtime companion, Brian Muise.
Visiting hours will be held in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Committal services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the family c/o Linda A. Ross, 264 Main St., #4, Gloucester, MA 01930.
