Manuel Joaquim Alves, age 62 of Fall River, passed away April 28, 2014. Born in Chaves, Portugal, he was the husband of Domitila (Silva) Alves and the son of the late Carlos & Mariana da Conceicao (Ferreira) Alves. Manny had worked for Quaker Mfg. Co. in the Shipping/Receiving Dept. He served in the Portuguese Military with a Commando & Special-Ops Unit. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, soccer, and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of Fall River, he is survived by his 2 sons: Michael P. Alves and Jason B. Alves, and his wife Tammy; 3 grandchildren: Kelsey H. Alves, Nathan A. Alves, & Myah B. Alves.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on FRIDAY at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery. Calling hours on THURSDAY 5-8 P.M.
