Thomas, John E. “Jack” of Duxbury, passed away on April 27 at the age of 56. Loving father of Michelle Phelan of West Yarmouth. Step father of Sugar Morini and Robert Morini. Dear brother of Jill Damon and her husband Robert of Rockland, David Thomas and his wife Pat of Hudson, FL, Doreen Ross of Plymouth and the late June Stokes. Son of the late David Kendall and Elsie Mildred(Bergquist) Thomas. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and fellow firefighters.
Jack was a graduate of Duxbury High School, class of 1975. He served as a Duxbury firefighter for 28 years and was also a special for the Duxbury Police Department. Jack worked security at Jordan Hospital as well as the Broken Spoke in Laconia, NH. He was a member of the Duxbury firefighters local 2167 and the Plymouth County Tech Rescue Team. Jack was a longtime volunteer for Cops for Kids with Cancer and helped organize the annual Flight of the Angels Motorcycle Run. He loved dogs and enjoyed any charity motorcycle rides.
Visiting hours will be held in the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Rte. 139 in Marshfield on Sunday, May 4 from 2 to 6 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, May 5 at 11:00 a.m.
