Obituary

Atty. Joseph F. Rosa, 63, of Assonet died Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Lucille M. (Lavallee) Rosa, they were married for 37 years.
Born in Enid, OK, he was son of Pauline I. (Nacaula) Rosa of Fall River and the late William F. Rosa. He was an attorney and owner of J.M.C. Rosa’s Enterprises Towing in Fall River. A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School and the former SMTI of Dartmouth, he earned his Juris Doctorate Degree in Law at the Southern New England School of Law in Dartmouth. A retired Major from the United States Army, he served his country in the Vietnam War. He was a Communicant of St. Bernards Church, Assonet. Mr. Rosa was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Freetown Lions Club, and was actively involved in the Republican Party.
Including his wife and mother, he is survived by a son: Robert W. Rosa of Fall River; 2 daughters: Anne-Marie J. Rosa of Dartmouth and her fiancée Jennifer Craft and Jennifer A. Rosa of Fall River and her fiancé Robert Amaral; 2 brothers: Michael P. Rosa of Dighton and David Rosa of Dighton; 3 sisters: Carmel Rosa of Fall River, Alicia Coutroubis of Fall River and Marilyn Bou Ramia of Cranston, RI; and several nieces and nephews.
He was brother of the late James V. Rosa.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernards Church, Assonet at 11:00 A.M.
Calling hours Tuesday 4 – 7 P.M.
Interment in Assonet Burying Grounds, Assonet.
