Ruby Ann King Taylor, age 98, died Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Yalobusha General Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS. She was born in Lafayette County, MS to the late Benjamin Franklin and Martha Easley King. Ruby was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Water Valley, MS and enjoyed cooking, working in her yard and flower beds and spending time with family and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm at the church. Burial will be in the Pine Flat Methodist Church Cemetery in Lafayette County, MS with Ryan Taylor, Bill Taylor, Will Taylor, Adam Taylor, Matt Taylor, Bobby Myers and Sam Beemster serving as pallbearers. Seven Oaks Funeral Home of Water Valley, MS is in charge of arrangements.
Ruby is survived by her daughter, Joann Taylor Myers (Dr. Robert P.) of Columbus, MS; three sons, Bennie C. Taylor (Julia), Kenneth K. Taylor (Peggy) and James Timothy Taylor (Holly) all of Water Valley, MS; two sisters, Jean Sarsgard of West Point, MS and Geraldine Jenkins of Water Valley, MS; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Coley Taylor; her sister, Gladys Thweatt; two brothers, Carmon E. King and Doris King; and two grandchildren, Keith Reed and Cole Taylor.
