Obituary


Laconia---Mildred C. Walton, of 64 Morningside Drive, died on her 97th birthday, April 24, 2014 at Lakes Region General Hospital.

Mrs. Walton was born April 24, 1917 in Cornwall, England the daughter of the late Frederick and Susan M. (Cooke) Williams. Mildred had been a resident of Laconia since 1977, having moved here from Dublin, NH. Mildred was a member of the Laconia Congregational Church where she served as a past deacon. She was a member of the Belknap Mill, the NH Symphony and the Grammie Program.

Mrs. Walton is survived by her daughter, Susan Curtis and her husband William of Potomac Falls, Virginia, two grandchildren, Mary Curtis Blair of Hopkinton, Mass and Julie A. Curtis of Atlanta, GA, two great grandchildren; Zachary and Rylee Jane Blair, two nephews; Courtney Williams of Mass and Richard Williams of Maine and a step-daughter, Carolyn Loos of Keene, NH. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Walton was predeceased by two brothers; Courtney and Arthur Williams and her sister, Mary E. Krogman, who died in 2010 at the age of 100.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 1PM at the Laconia Congregational Church, 69 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H. Rev. Dr. Warren H. Bouton, Pastor of the Church, will officiate.

For those who wish, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Laconia Congregational Church, 18 Veterans Square, Laconia, NH 03246.
