Ralph "Jack" Rice, age 83, residing in North Andover, passed away peacefully on April 23rd, after a long illness. Jack was born in Albany, NY but lived most of his younger years in Cambridge which he loved dearly. In his Cambridge years Jack could often be found singing with big bands and exploring his love for music. Jack married the late Janet Rice and moved to Marshfield to raise his children. Jack was proud to be an alumni of Northeastern University and worked his entire career for TRW. Later in life he moved to Conway, NH at which time he made many wonderful friends working at Cranmore Mountain skiing well into his 70's.
Loving father of Michael Rice and his wife Terry of VA, Kim Vezzoli and her husband Frank of Old Lyme, CT, Heather Fahey and her husband Bill of North Andover and the late Nancy Charniak. Loving grandfather of Janet and Steven Rice, Michael and Nicholas Vezzoli, Christopher and Ryan Charniak and Summer, Colton, Nevada and Solana Fahey. Loving great grandfather of Zoey Charniak. Dear brother of Debbie Ames of Arlington. Son of the late Ralph E. and Genevieve (Ames) Rice.
Visiting hours will be held in the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Rte. 139 in Marshfield on Monday, April 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Tuesday, April 29 at 8:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Christine’s Church, 1295 Main St. in Marshfield at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be held in the Winslow Cemetery.
