Mary Ann Dugan passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 20, 2014. Mary Ann is survived by her four children: Eddie Dugan (and his spouse Carol Ciampi-Dugan), Kathy (Dugan) Florentino (and her late husband John Florentino), Beth (Dugan) Souza (and her spouse Wally Souza) and Tricia (Dugan) Igo (and her spouse Bill Igo). Mary Ann also leaves behind her ten grandchildren: Samantha and Timothy Florentino; Bridget and Meaghan Souza; Justine and Brianna Igo; Jennifer, Timmy, Patrick and Ariyana Ciampi Dugan.
Mary Ann also leaves behind her long time, dear friends Mary Toth and Lucille Oliveto and her “4th daughter” Abby Domenici. As well as nephew Ray Gillis, his spouse Joan, and their children Shawn (and his spouse Kristina) and Michael; niece Linda (Sargent) Tanner, her husband Mark and their children Erin, John and Kaylee; niece Janice (McCrosson) Gillis (and her late spouse Matthew Gillis) and their children Christopher, Ryan and Jacqueline.
Mary Ann was predeceased by her parents May (Fulcher) Sargent and George Dewey Sargent, her brothers John (and his partner Alice Austin) and George (Jim), her sister Grace (Sargent) Gillis (and her spouse Raymond Gillis).
Mary Ann was a graduate of Medford High School. She was an active participant in Somerville Pop Warner, acting as the cheerleading counselor for a number of years. She was ever present at softball games for her granddaughters Samantha (Somerville High School), Bridget and Meaghan (Medford High School), as well as hockey games for her grandson Timothy (Somerville Youth Hockey and Somerville Highlanders Varsity Hockey) .
Mary Ann retired from the Department of Mental Retardation in 2001 after 18 years of state service.
A memorial service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Tuesday, May 6 at 5:30 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 2 - 5:30 PM.
