Gary “Bull” Giddens, 59, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Friday, April 25, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Fitzgerald with the Rev. Dr. Mike Ruffin officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Giddens was born August 6, 1954 in Fitzgerald to Joyce Moore Giddens and the late Alvin V. “Papa” Giddens. He was a 1972 graduate of Fitzgerald High School and received his Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Valdosta State College. He was a self-employed businessman who dearly loved his family. Mr. Giddens enjoyed watching all sports as well as going hunting and fishing and playing golf. He enjoyed coaching and watching his grandchildren play sports and wrestle. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Sportsmens Sunday school class.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years: Betsy Giddens of Fitzgerald; children and their spouses: Jennifer Walker of Ocilla, Scott & Stephanie Griffin of Fitzgerald, Denise & Rick Verheul of Danbury, Connecticut, Benji & Randi Giddens of Fitzgerald, and Mandy Giddens of Fitzgerald; his grandchildren: Griffin Walker, Wright Walker, Jace Bowen, Jenna Griffin, Drew Moore, Gracie Giddens, Kaine Giddens, and Ansley Claire Verheul; his mother: Joyce M. Giddens of Fitzgerald; and a brother and sister-in-law: Johnny & Gail Giddens of Fitzgerald. He was preceded in death by his father: Alvin V. “Papa” Giddens.
