Obituary



Laconia-----Charles “Chick” Paris Vusvunis, 87, of 59 Cottonwood Avenue died at Lakes Region General Hospital on Monday, April 21, 2014 surrounded by his family.

Mr. Vusvunis was born September 3, 1926 in Worcester, Mass., the son of the late Paris and Marianne (Alexiou) Vusvunis.

Mr. Vusvunis served in the U. S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific onboard the USS Bunker Hill. He was a longtime resident of Laconia and was owner of the Bluebird Motel.

Mr. Vusvunis was a member of the Taxiarchai Greek Orthodox Church. He loved gardening and birds.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-three years, Arlia “Nancy” (Prouty) Vusvunis, of Laconia; a son, Peter Vusvunis, of Hempstead, New York; two daughters, Cheryl Gunnerson of Gilford and Lisa St. Laurent and her husband, Thomas, of Center Sandwich; two grandchildren, Diane Liakas of Gilford and Michael Gunnerson of Northwood; four great grandchildren and a niece, Marianne Morrissey, of Lynn, Mass.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 4:00-7:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.

A Greek Orthodox liturgy will be conducted at Taxiarchai Greek Orthodox Church, 811 North Main Street, Laconia, N.H. on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 10:00AM.

Burial will follow in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, N.H.
