Obituary

Richard J. Clements, Sr., 73, of Welcome Road, died Monday, April 21, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Elizabeth A. (Winters) Clements. They had been married for 51 years.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Albert and Lillian (Brown) Clements. He had lived in Smithfield for 48 years and previously lived in Providence.

He had worked as a Visual Merchandiser Manager for the former Cherry & Webb before retiring in 1995. He volunteered at Whytebrook Terrace, Cortland Place and St. Michael’s Church CYO. He was also active with the cub scouts.

He enjoyed many summers camping at Wawaloam Campground in Richmond.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children: Lori-Ann Caldwell and her husband, Paul of Glocester, Richard Clements, Jr. of Smithfield and Kristen Farmer of Providence, his three granddaughters: Felicia, Brittini and Kailey, his great grandson, Cameron and his brother, Roy Clements of Providence. He was the brother of the late Albert Clements and Lillian Watson.

His funeral will be held Friday at 9am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Georgiaville, RI 02917. Visitation Thursday 4-7pm. Please omit flowers. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Michael’s Church Food Pantry or Home & Hospice Care of RI.
