Luella I. (Butts) Kirby, 75, of Westport died Friday, April 18, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Acushnet, daughter of the late Frank C. and Veronica I. (Mastera) Butts, she had lived in Westport for most of her life. Prior to retirement she was a payroll clerk for the Westport School Dept. Mrs. Kirby was a member of A.F.S.M.E. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Survivors include 2 sons: Robert V. Kirby and his companion Sue of Westport and Michael G. Kirby and his wife Marcia of FL; a daughter: Sherrie M. DuVarney and her husband Tedd of Westport; 2 sisters: Joyce C. Faria of Westport and Marcia A. Webb of FL; and 7 grandchildren: Jake, Lauren, Rachel, Robert, Chad, Tommy and Veronica.
Graveside service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, April 28, 2014 at Peckham West Cemetery, New Bedford at 11:00 A.M.
Memorial visitation will be Sunday from 2 – 5 P.M. at the Potter Funeral Home.
