John H. Bonin 70, of Mohegan, died April 18, 2014 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Edda (Gombert) Bonin. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late John J. and Helen (Howard) Bonin. John was an educator for the Bellingham School Department for many years. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era.
Besides his wife he leaves two sons COL John J. Bonin and his wife Michelle of Carlisle, PA, LTC Peter C. Bonin and his wife Autumn of Fort Wainwright, AK, and a daughter, Elizabeth Murray and her husband Daniel of Burrillville. He was also the father of the late Marie Grace Bonin. John is also survived by two sisters, Dr. Marie B. Cote of Burrillville, and Marion B. Ward of N. Providence, and eight grandchildren, Grace, Ellie, Aiden, Brayden, John, Gabrielle, Colin, and Madelyn.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 5-7 PM at the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St., Woonsocket. A private burial will be held at the discretion of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations to Mt. St. Mary’s Abbey, 300 Arnold St., Wrentham, MA 02093, in his memory, would be appreciated.
