Obituary

WAYLAND: Catherine M. “Kay” (Lippert) Antonell, 87, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 17, 2014 following an extended illness.
She was born in New York City, NY on August 27, 1926 the daughter of the late George Lippert and Katharina ( Zeitler) Lippert.
She leaves her husband of 65 years, Frank R. Antonell of Wayland. Kay is survived by her three children Cathy Lupo and her husband Thomas Lupo of Roslyn, NY; Cliff Antonell and his wife Kim Antonell of Wayland and Stephen Antonell of Tarpon Springs, FL. Also survived by her six grandchildren, Regina Lupo, Alyssa Antonell, David Antonell and his wife Morgan Antonell, Matthew Antonell and his wife Katie Antonell, Michael Antonell and Rachel Antonell. She was the sister of the late John Lippert.
Kay graduated from Roosevelt High School in the Bronx, NY and attended City College of NY. In her earlier years, she was a secretary for Firemens Fund Insurance in New York. She has been a resident of Wayland for the past 45 years previously residing in Hawthorne, New York. Kay was an active member of the Woodridge Garden Club and was awarded many ribbons for her flower arranging and plant designs. She volunteered for many community service organizations including Cerebral Palsy, Women’s Heart Disease, American Cancer Society and for War Veterans organizations. She also spent many hours teaching crafts at nursing homes and at church. She was a longtime and active communicant of Saint Ann’s Church in Wayland and served on the Altar Guild at the church.
Kay was greatly loved and she will be missed by the many lives that she touched.
Visitations will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rte 30) Wayland,
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Ann’s Church, 124 Cochituate Road (Rte 27) Wayland.
Interment will follow in the Antonell family lot in North Cemetery in Wayland.
In lieu of flowers her family suggests that memorial gifts in Kay’s memory may be sent to the Parmenter VNA and Wayside Hospice, 266 Cochituate Rd, Wayland, MA 01778
