Louis Amirto, 91 of Billerica, died Sunday after a brief illness in Billerica.
Born in Boston, he lived in Billerica for the past 5 years and formerly of Stoneham. He was the son of the late Angelina (Verlotto) and Antonio Amirto. Louis was a machinist with Precision Metal in Peabody for 25 years and retired in 1987. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army 1942 to 1945 and received the Bronze Star.

Amirto of Florida, Terry Amirto Burke and her husband George of Billerica, Paul Amirto and his wife Marie of North Carolina. Also survived by 10 loving grandchildren and 12 loving great grandchildren. Brother of Ann DeMasi of Wakefield and the late Frank, Virgilio, Attilio, Theresa, Anthony and Nicholas Amirto.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 374 Main St., Wilmington, Thursday, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday, from 4-8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
