CHICOPEE - Marian M. (Menard) Dansereau, 94, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, April 21, 2014. She passed into Eternal Life at Wingate at South Hadley surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born at home in the Willimansett section of Chicopee on March 4, 1920, a beloved daughter of the late Napoleon L. and Anna (Demers) Menard. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High School and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was last employed as a loan officer at the former Uniroyal Credit Union in Chicopee. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and a member of the Aldenville Senior Club. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her loving son, Richard A. Dansereau who was Called Home on October 1, 1992; her brothers, Roland and Edmond Menard; and her sister, Jeannette Chagnon. She leaves her husband, Alfred P. Dansereau. They were married on October 25, 1941 at Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 72 years of happiness together. She also leaves her loving daughter, Carol D. Sansoucy and her husband, Harvey, of Belchertown; her loving daughter-in-law, Connie Dansereau of West Palm Beach, FL; her six cherished grandchildren, Ron Sansoucy and his wife, Julie, John Sansoucy and his wife, Karen, Jeff Sansoucy and his wife, Trish, Lynn Wickham, Carrie Baidas and her husband, Kevin, and Pamela Cooper and her husband, Doug; her ten cherished great grandchildren; her brother, Norman Menard and his wife, Theresa, of Ludlow; her sister, Florence Barthelette of Chicopee; and her many nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended members of the Dansereau and Menard families. Her funeral will be held on Friday morning, April 25, 2014 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
