Obituary

Edward "Jack" Rogers died peacefully at his home on April 20th after a lengthy illness. He was born on August 9, 1936 to Edward and Alice (Murray) Rogers in Milton MA. Jack is predeceased by his parents and 2 sisters, Eleanor Thomas of Florida and Edythe Carlson of North Conway, and his nephew Rick Snell of North Conway, NH. Jack is survived by his loving wife Frances (Morello) Rogers to whom he would have been married 50 years in June; his son Donald and his wife Lisa, his 3 loving grand-children Kayleen, Brady and Gavin all of Brookline NH; 2 great-nephews Joshua and Aaron Snell of Conway NH and a niece Jan Dodson of Florida.
Jack was a graduate of Winchester High School and Boston College (1959). He resided a number of years in Lexington MA until moving to Maynard in 1987 with his wife and son.
Jack was a friend to all, a lover of nature, a wonderful husband, father and grand-father. He spent is final career working as a monitor at Acton Boxborough Regional High School from 2000-2010, where he became known as the "Candy Man" as he would always give pieces of candy to the students and staff.
An avid lover of nature, he spent many hours fishing and walking the trails of the Great Meadows in Concord MA with friends and family. He caught many of life's great moments behind the camera. Jack loved to draw, play card games, and make people laugh. He had a way of connecting with people and made them feel like they were the most important person in the world.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Thurs., April 24, at 9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, 155 Washington St., at 11AM, with funeral procession to Wildwood Cemetery. Late U.S. Army Veteran.
