Lena M. Leggett, 91, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2014, after a short illness. Lena was the daughter of the late Maud and Thomas Leggett. She was also predeceased by her brothers, George Leggett, Joseph C. Leggett, William F. Leggett and Samuel A. Leggett, and her nieces, Sandra M. Douse and Theresa C. Leggett. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Jacqueline M. Leggett, Nancy M. McCoy and her husband Bruce A. McCoy, Christina I. Fay and her husband Christopher Fay, Judith A. Leggett and her husband Michael Duggan, Debra Leggett her husband Russell Lutz; and Stephan T. Leggett and his wife Maria Leggett; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews. Lena was an avid gardener, lover of very loud opera and country music, an insatiable reader, and known as the family photographer. She was a passionate animal lover with an exceptional fondness for cats and was known for taking in strays. She took great pleasure in all holidays and the changing of the seasons, and enjoyed decorating for each event. Christmas was especially important to Lena, and, as her family grew over the years, she ensured that each family member knew they were loved by her by her unique, and often quirky, double wrapped Christmas gifts. She will be missed by her loving family. A graveside service for family members will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the Blue Hills Cemetery.
