Clyde Wilkerson, Jr., 69, of Ty Ty died Monday, April 21, 2014, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2014, at Albany Baptist Church. Rev. John Aaron White will officiate with burial to follow at the Wilkerson residence in Ty Ty. Tony Wilkerson, Mike Dorden, Buddy Murrell, Morgan Guthrie, Michael Tew and Steven Tew will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 24, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals, and on Friday, April 25, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at the Albany Baptist Church.
Mr. Wilkerson was born April 21, 1945 in Tampa, Florida and was the son of Clyde Wilkerson and Mattie Lyle Wilkerson, both deceased. Mr. Wilkerson was a retired cabinet maker and produce seller. In the past, he was active in the Salvation Army in Plant City, Florida and he attended Albany Baptist Church.
Mr. Wilkerson is survived by his wife, Iva Foister Wilkerson of Ty Ty; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Kimberley Jones of Albany, and Tony and Rita Wilkerson of Ty Ty; two daughters, Euline Maiden of Valparaiso, Indiana, and Lenora Dunn of Columbus, Indiana; one sister, Faye McDonald of Plant City, Florida; a former daughter-in-law, Melissa Gwyn Bason; his two special grandchildren, Jamie and Lucy Wilkerson, and seven additional grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
