Obituary

Joseph L. Morock, 74, of New Bedford died March 22, 2002 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.

He was the husband of Irene D. (Medeiros) Morock and the late Barbara (Viegas) Morock, and son of the late Thomas and Mary (Beatriz) Morock.

Mr. Morock was born in Trenton, New Jersey, and was raised in New Bedford.

Mr. Morock served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years at various bases in the United States, Germany, Saudi Arabia, England, Italy and throughout the world, until his retirement. He later owned and operated Mt. Pleasant Street Garage in Westport.

He was a member of American Legion Post 307, Veterans of Foreign Wars Dartmouth Memorial Post 9059, 40 & 8 in New Bedford and the Air Force Sergeants Association .

Survivors include his wife; 6 sons, Bruce Morock of Mexico, Robert W. Viera of California; Richard E. Viera of Ohio, Russell F. Viera of Portsmouth, RI, and Randall W. Viera and Raymond M. Viera, both of New Bedford; 4 daughters, Roberta Lomer of Newton, Kimberly Morock of North Carolina, and Christine Viera and Barbara A. Goldstein, both of New Bedford; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was the grandfather of the late Chad Mourao, and brother of the late Louise Rossi and Angelo Morock.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordWednesday, March 27th at 8:30 AM. Funeral Mass at St. James Church at 9:30 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne.

Visiting hours Tuesday, March 26th from 5-8 PM.
