Helen Joanne Wodziak, 76, of Esmond Street, died Thursday, April 17, 2014 at her home.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Kunegunda (Nowobiliski) Wodziak. She was a lifelong resident of Smithfield.
She retired from the teaching in 1997 after teaching in Warwick and Lincoln. She most recently worked at the East Smithfield Public Library after volunteering there from 1997 to 2001. She was a member of St. Michael’s Church. She was a 1967 graduate of the University of Rhode Island and later received her Master of Education from Rhode Island College.
She is survived by her sisters, Mary A. Wodziak of Smithfield, Anna W. Tarsa of Glocester, Genevieve C. Wodziak of Smithfield and two nieces: Carolyn A. Plante and her husband, Donald and Nancy J. Tarsa. She was the sister of the late John Wodziak.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Georgiaville. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Tuesday 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
