Constance “Betty” (Martin) Davin, 83, died at Kindred Transitional Care & Rehabilitation-Forestview, in Wareham, on April 5, 2014 after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Constance (Buchan) Martin. A 1948 graduate of New Bedford High School, she lived in New Bedford and Mattapoisett until her marriage to the late Francis John “Jack” Davin, when she moved to Illinois.
She loved travel and outdoor activities and was an excellent nature photographer. A strong wildlife advocate, she was a member and supporter of the International Crane Foundation, Nature Conservancy and National Wildlife Society. Following her retirement from AT&T, she was a volunteer docent at the Brookfield Zoo near Chicago.
She is survived by her sister Eleanor M. Martin of Mattapoisett.
Private arrangements will be held at the convenience of the family.
