Obituary

Edward R. Peterson, 66 of Walpole and formerly of Hyde Park, died at home on Tuesday, April 15, surrounded by his family. Husband and best friend of Betsy (Lisbeth) Watt; well-loved father of Lindsay Lannan and her husband Thomas of Methuen, Carolyn Gridelli and her husband Christopher of North Attleboro, and Edward M. Peterson and his wife Maureen of Salem; adoring “Grampy”; to Lucy, Charlotte and Henry; and to many old-car guys, he was the go –to – expert for 1934 Plymouths.
Born in Boston, May 21, 1947, the son of the late Edward F. and Aida (Klawa) Peterson, Ed graduated from Boston State College and Lesley University. He served in the Army, stationed in South Korea during the early 1970’s.
Ed had worked at ECC as a construction project scheduler.
Ed’s passion was antique automobiles, in particular 1934 Plymouths. He was past president and officer of the Bay State Antique Auto Club, and a past officer and Judging Director of the National Plymouth Owners Club. He was internationally known and respected as the expert of 1934 Plymouths.
Friends are invited to join with the family in remembering and celebrating Ed’s life on Saturday April 26 in the Ginley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 892 Main Street, Walpole from 11:00-2:00p.m.
