Acushnet – Barbara Ann Louise (Preece) Furtado, 74, of Acushnet passed away at home on April 15, 2014. She was the widow of Anthony “Tony” Furtado.
Mrs. Furtado was born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Robert K. and Mary E. (Souza) Preece, and resided in Acushnet most of her life. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, Lunds Corner. She was the owner/operator of A Little Cross-Stitch until her retirement. She was an earlier member of the Square Away square dancing club, loved the outdoors and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughters: Karen Ann Louise Furtado of Acushnet and Sharon M. Roberts and her husband, Charlie, of Glendale, AZ; 3 grandchildren: Robert Kowalczyk of Acushnet, Katie Roberts of Glendale, AZ and Charlie Roberts of Glendale, AZ; and several nieces & nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the Acushnet Cemetery, 91 Main St., Acushnet.
Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
