Rita J. (Polillio) Michienzi, a longtime Stoughton resident, and more recently a resident of Taunton, passed away on Monday November 1, 2004 after an extended illness , at the Braemoor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Brockton. She was 64 years old.
Born April 15, 1940, in West Warwick, Rhode Island, she was the beloved daughter of the late Mr. John L. and Mrs. Celia (Bruno) Polillio.
She attended Stoughton Public Schools.
Rita was a Homemaker and was very dedicated to her children.
She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton.
Her hobbies and interests included; music of all types: especially Elvis Presley, Interior Decorating, Dancing and telling many a joke. Rita was very family orientated and loved her children , grandchildren and family very much.
She is survived by her children: John Michienzi and his wife Jennifer, Joseph Michienzi and Barbara Michienzi all of Stoughton. Other survivors include her sisters: Jean Barry of Middleboro, Shirley A. Souza of Taunton, Patricia A. Bachelder of Middleboro, Gail M. Hamdeed of Fairhaven , June Hunt of Stoughton her brother John L. Polillio of Florida, two grandchildren: Nicholas J. and Krista N. Michienzi both of Stoughton , 24 nieces and nephews and her longtime companion Stephen Haggerty of Taunton. She was also pre-deceased by her sister Carol Ann Polillio.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday November 6, 2004 at 7:45 A.M. from the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, (Of f Rt. 138 at the First Federal Savings Bank), Stoughton . followed by a mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton Street, Stoughton at 9:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. Visiting hours are on Friday November 5, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.
