Obituary

Larkin, Margarette (Keeley) of Marshfield, passed away on April 15, 2014. Born, raised and educated in New York City. Beloved wife of sixty three years of the late Philip Larkin, former National Director of Maintenance, Howard Johnson's Co. Devoted mother to Dr. Kevin Larkin, Robert Larkin, Margarette Larkin, Michael Larkin, his wife Bonnie, the late Joseph Larkin and his wife Catherine. Loving grandmother of Arianne and Andrew Larkin. Dear sister of the late Stanley Keeley and his wife Lynne. Loving aunt of her Keeley girls; Sharon, Diane, Moira & Tara. Daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian Keeley.
Margarette, true daughter of the American Revolution, proud humble patriot who served her country as an Air Transport coordinator during WWII at Idlewild Field in NYC. She, as her many preceding generations and husband, served this nation with honor, distinction and great personal sacrifice. This she preferred to keep to herself, displaying her "Betsy Ross" flag as the only hint. Margarette, a Queens College graduate in the mid-forties, believed deeply in the value of education. Reading, history & genealogy were among her passions...what you did mattered, possessions were of less concern. Margarette was a volunteer reading teacher in Marshfield. She was employed at National Amusements/ Sumner Redstone Corp. retiring in 1996. Margarette, Phil & family traveled widely, living in Istanbul, Turkey for a time with the intention of exposing their children to different cultures, people & languages. They were before their time, of their time and after their time...in the path they took may illuminate life just a bit for those that follow. They loved without condition and their final wish is that their likes will be seen again. In the end it is the love you create, little else matters. We their children can never repay the love and lives they have given.
