Devoted father of John Rooney of Dedham, Karen Davies & husband Richard of FL, Michael Rooney & his wife Denise of Franklin, Paul Rooney, Donna Davies, Susan Callanan all of Dedham, Joseph Rooney & his wife Krista of West Roxbury, brother of Geraldine Pacheco, Dorothy Packard both of Dedham, & the late Joseph Rooney & Gertrude Ryan. Grandfather of the late Michael J. Rooney, also survived by many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. John was a former Guard for Governor Foster Furcolo for many years. Former owner of Rooney Tavern in Neponset & Little Rascals in Boston. Korean War veteran.
