Alfen "Bud" Humerickhouse
Jan. 13, 1929 to April 13, 2014

Alfen "Bud" Humerickhouse, 85, of Anderson went home to be with the Lord on April 13, 2014 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after an extended illness.

He was born in Elwood, January 13, 1929 to John and Catherine (Werking) Humerickhouse. He graduated from Anderson High School.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1948 where he received World War II Victory medal and Army of Occupation medal with the 12th Calvary Regiment in Japan.

He retired in 1987 from production at Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 33 years of service. He served as a reserve officer for the Madison County Sheriff's Department for 23.5 years.

He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church where he was a song leader and enjoyed gospel sings.

He enjoyed fishing, vacations at Pigeon Forge with his family, John Wayne movies and was a member of Fellowship of Christian Policemen.

He is survived by his wife, Irma Lee (Bevins) Humerickhouse of Anderson whom he married September 29, 1951; son, Randy (Barbara) Humerickhouse; two daughters Gina Humerickhouse; Jennifer Humerickhouse all of Anderson; granddaughter, Melissa Humerickhouse of Pendleton; two brothers, Jim Humerickhouse; Terry Lee (Linda) Humerickhouse; three sisters, Imogene Poole; Susie Craig; and Louise (Ronnie) Hudson; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Lisa Hannah.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Alice Gold; Laura Kay Furney and Anna Mae Gustin and brother Larry Humerickhouse.

The family wishes to thank John Longnaker; Dr. Blankenship and Dr. Kassab; the nurses at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital; staff of Bethany Pointe Health Campus and Muncie VA and the nurses of Indiana Home Health Care for their special care of Bud.

Service will be 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Gary Woodring officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Landmark Baptist Church.
