
Patricia G. Pugliares, of Wilmington formerly of Cambridge, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 13th, following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of Domenic Pugliares, together sharing 44 years of marriage. Born in Waltham, Patty, as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, was one of four children of the late Edward J. and Marjorie (Duggan) Sarasin.
Patty was raised and educated in Cambridge. She was a graduate of the North Cambridge Catholic High School and also received her Associates Degree from Business School in Boston. Domenic and Patty were married on July 11, 1970 in a ceremony held at St. John the Evangelist Church in Cambridge. Patty was a devoted wife, mother and nana. She most recently worked as a school bus driver for the North Reading Transportation Company and for many years Patty and Domenic opened their home to foster children, giving them a safe clean home full of nurturing a love. As a loving mother she was always involved in her children’s schooling and different activities. Devoted to her family, Patty enjoyed spending time in Maine with her family and friends during the summer months and the annual trip and reunion with her family. She also enjoyed reading, working on logic puzzles, and shopping for that great bargain. Once her children were grown, Patty and Domenic moved to Wilmington where they have been residents for nearly ten years. When the grandchildren started arriving Patty was a natural in the role of Nana. She cherished being with her grandchildren and received so much joy from their time spent together. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her beloved husband Domenic, Patty is survived by her devoted children; Denise Ewald and her husband Sean of Reading, Officer Brian Pugliares, CPD, and his wife Ashley of Wilmington, and Katie Pugliares of Wilmington. She was the loving Nana of Sam, Isaac and Grace Ewald, Gavin Pugliares and Leland Pugliares. Cherished sister of Edward Sarasin and his wife Alice of Wilmington, Beverly Swymer and her husband George of Milford, and the late Dennis Sarasin. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members. Aunt of the late Laura (Swymer) Clancy and Karen (Swymer) Shanahan.
Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin – Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Wednesday, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. John the Evangelist Church, 2254 Mass. Ave, Cambridge at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Funeral Home will be held on Tuesday; from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
