Obituary

Margaret I. Richards, of Seabrook, NH formerly of Wilmington and Woburn, passed away peacefully April 11th, at the Exeter Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was 87. Margaret was the beloved wife of the late James H. Richards who passed away two days earlier. Born in Boston, Margaret was one of nine children of the late Walter and Mary C. (Butler) Chase.

Margaret and James were married nearly seventy years ago in a ceremony held in St. Thomas Church in Wilmington on December 20, 1944. Margaret was raised and educated in Woburn where she attended Woburn Schools. Following their marriage the young couple settled in Wilmington, where they began their family and resided for many years until moving to Seabrook, NH in the early seventies. Margaret worked for a number of years with the Sylvania Corp in Woburn until her retirement. Together Margaret and James were inseparable and enjoyed spending many winters at their home in Haines City, Florida. Mostly devoted to her family, Margaret cherished her time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was also an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.

Margaret was the devoted mother of Barbara Schiappa and her husband Michael of Seabrook, NH, James Richards Jr. of Haverhill, and the late Janice Fratus. She was the loving grandmother to 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Sister of Richard Chase and his wife Mary of Woburn, Adrene Chase and his wife Mona of Wilmington, Arthur Chase and his wife Mary of Tewksbury, the late Marie Muse, Fred, Frank and George Chase.

Funeral Services will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 374 Main St. Wilmington, Tuesday, April 15th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Funeral Home will be held on Monday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Outreach Program c/o Sr. Doris, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish, 289 Lafayette Rd., Hampton, NH 03842.
