Norene J. (Feeney) Funk, age 77, of North Attleboro, formerly of Attleboro and Mansfield passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the Epoch Senior Healthcare in Norton. She was the beloved wife of the late George M. Funk who died in 1998.
Born in Boston, MA on September 17, 1936, she was a loving daughter of the late William S. and Johnnie H. (Lynde) Feeney. She grew up in Dedham and was a graduate of Dedham High School.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Funk had worked as a clothes marker at Cherry & Webb in South Attleboro and had previously been employed as an inspector at the Polaroid Corporation in Norwood for 17 years.
She had made her home in North Attleboro for the past 4 years, previously residing in Attleboro and for many years in Mansfield.
Norene was a member of Cushman Union Church in North Attleboro. She loved spending time with her family and held a special place in her heart for cats. She will always be remembered for the ways in which she always put others first.
She is survived by her devoted children, Wayne E. Funk and his wife Donna of North Attleboro, Pamela Ferrara and her companion Ryan Epps of Plainville and Lauren Collins and her husband Gregg of Plainville. She was the dear sister of Mark Feeney of Dracut and the late Billie Patterson and Roberta Garvin. She is also survived by her cherished 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her beloved cat “Sunny Boy”
Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited at attend, will be held on Tuesday, April 15th at 10:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 14th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
