Durwood E. “Woody” Gillikin, 88, of Pavilion Avenue, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Scalabrini Home in North Kingstown. He was the husband of Theresa M. (Goushakjian) Gillikin.
Born in Beaufort, North Carolina he is the last survivor of seven children. He had lived in Providence since 1944.
He was a supervisor at the Turnkey office of the US Post Office for over 35 years. He was a WWII Navy veteran.
He was the father of Steven Gillikin of Providence and Virgina Gillikin of Manhattan, NY. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Friday at 12:30pm in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Visitation Friday 11-12:30pm. Burial in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Scalabrini Home, 860 North Quidnessett Road, North Kingstown, RI 02852.
