Patricia A. Ernst, 71, of Dudley died Wednesday, April 9th in the Christopher House of Worcester. She leaves her sister, Nancy M. Leonard and her husband, Michael of Dudley; a niece, Patricia Gorgievski and her husband, Nicholas and their children, Kate and Mia of Johnston, RI; a nephew, Stephen Leonard and his wife, Michelle and their children, Conor and Cameron of Billerica.
Patricia was born in Worcester the daughter of Charles and Bridget (Volk) Joyce and graduated from South High School and Worcester State Teacher’s College with a Master’s Degree. Patricia was a teacher for 35 years. She taught in the Worcester area as well as New Jersey where she received the award of Teacher of the Year at Voorhees High School in Glen Gardner, NJ. She enjoyed gardening, reading and traveling throughout the world. While traveling throughout Europe she enjoyed skiing, mountain climbing and backpacking.
Funeral services are private. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester is directing arrangements.
