Edward L. Dodge, 78, of Hampstead, NH, died Tuesday April 8, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 8, 1936, a son of Elmer and Helen (Melendy) Dodge. He had been a resident of Hampstead for over 40 years, formerly living in Woodbridge, VA and Reading, MA. He had been employed for many years for Canobie Lake Park in Salem, NH. Edward was an avid Elvis fan and was known to always wear an Elvis shirt. He loved attending family gatherings and spending time with his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his caregivers, his sister, Linda Reynolds and her husband David of Hampstead; his brother, William Dodge and his wife Dorothy of Crofton, MD; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Russell, Robert, Ralph and Richard.
Calling hours were held on Friday, April 11th from 6 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A funeral service was held at 7:00pm during calling hours. Following cremation, the burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Hampstead. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
