New Bedford – Ronald De Barros, age 55 of New Bedford, died on April 5, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief period of declining health. He was born in New Bedford, the son of the late Grace (Barrett) and the late William De Barros. Mr. De Barros spent all of his life in this area and worked as a Forklift Operator at Ocean Spray.
Ronald enjoyed music, and for a time, worked as a DJ. He also enjoyed watching sports and rooting on his favorite teams, the New England Patriots and Boston Celtics. But, Ron will be most remembered as being a very family orientated man.
He leaves behind his 5 siblings: Kenneth De Barros, Robert De Barros, Lloyd De Barros, Beverly Fields and Carl De Barros, all of New Bedford; 5 step-siblings: William De Barros, “Tiny” De Barros, Timothy De Barros, Melinda De Barros and Melody De Barros; his girlfriend, DJ and her daughter, Queen, of New Bedford; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Visiting hours with his cremated remains present will be held in the funeral home on Saturday April 19 from 2 - 4 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
