Arave, Eldon C. "RV", 84, of Louisville, passed away Monday, April 7, 2014.
Native of Ogden, UT, he was the son of the late Clarence and Leone Arave. While serving in the U.S. Army and commissioned at Ft. Knox, he met his wife, and Louisville became his permanent residence. He spent his career as a "sales extraordinaire!" Having started multiple businesses, national and international, he was a well-accomplished businessman. He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Sunset Masonic Lodge 915, Kosair's Boat Club, Brass and Jazz Band, Greeters, Street Machines, Circus and Directors Staff and Valley of Louisville Scottish Rite.
Arave is survived by his wife of 64 years, the former Loretta Fallon; their children, Janice Nacol (Mark), Kevin Arave (Beverly), Cheri Lineweaver (Steve), Lisa Russell (Tommy) and Steven Arave (Lynn); brothers, Charles and Gary Arave; grandchildren, Matthew, Josh, and Julian Nacol (Hanna), Erica DiCio (Douglas) and Ethan Arave, Cherieth and Ben Lineweaver, Allison and Oliver Russell, Zachary, Alex, and Emma Arave. Arave is best remembered by all for his loving, caring, giving and humorous magnetic character.
Funeral Mass will be 11 am Friday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 6500 St. Bernadette Ave, Prospect, KY with burial services to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm and Thursday from 3 to 8 pm at Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Rd.
