Obituary

Dale Whitney, 64, passed away at his home in Marshfield after a long courageous battle with Lou Gherig’s Disease. Despite his failing health he remained a determined fighter who handled his illness head on. He was an avid Boston sports fan who will always be remembered for his love of fishing and cruising with family and friends. He leaves behind his beloved wife Patrice (Ryan) Whitney, devoted stepson Kevin Sharpe, dear twin brother Daniel and Jeanne Whitney of Mashpee, David Whitney of Marshfield and Steve Whitney of California, aunt Dorothy Alexander of North Falmouth. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Dale was born and raised in Franklin, MA.
A visiting hour will be held in the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Rte. 139 in Marshfield on Wednesday, April 16 from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. The family extends a special thanks to niece Susan Teuten and husband Christopher Teuten of Pembroke, Joanne Carr and caring staff at Guardian Hospital and the ALS Charitable Foundation.
