Obituary

Florence C. (Raines) Wheeler, 91, of Medway died at the Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of Arthur Wheeler who died in 2006 and William Baldwin, a WWII Marine, who died in Saipan.

Born in Seattle, Washington on June 18, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Fred K. and Ruth J. (Muri) Raines.

Mrs. Wheeler was a resident of Medway for the past 60 years and formerly resided in Malden.

Mrs. Wheeler retired in 2008 from Adesa in Framingham. She also worked as a messenger at Framingham Union Hospital for several years and as a secretary in the principal’s office at Medway High School for 27 years. She also worked at the former Levine Lumber Co. in Medway and seasonally at the Milford Drive-In during the 60’s and early 70’s.

Mrs. Wheeler was a member of NAREOP, the Massachusetts Association of School Secretaries and the Norfolk School Secretary Assoc. and an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Medway VFW Post 1526. She was also a longtime secretary of the Medway Council On Aging and an avid bowler.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann Wheeler of Derry, New Hampshire and Linda R. Wheeler.

She was the mother of the late Thomas J. Wheeler and sister of the late Seavert and James Raines.

Services will take place privately on Thursday, April 10 at 1 p.m. from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery in West Medway.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Her family request either flowers be sent or that donations may be made in her memory to a charity of one’s choice.
