Konstantinos “Charles” Karamanakis, 79, of Worcester passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, April 3rd. He leaves his beloved wife of 48 years, Anna (Orliaklis) Karamanakis; his two sons, George and Anastasios “Tony” Karamanakis and their wives, Angela and Helen; his grandchildren, Kosta, Fotini, Costa, Niko, Georgie and Joshua.
He was born in Iraklia, Serron, Greece on June 9th, 1934 and immigrated to the United States with his family in 1971, seeking a better life for his children. He was a carpenter for 20 years at Lincoln Lounge Furniture and the owner of Brothers Pizza of Southbridge for over 15 years, as well as a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral. He was devoted to his family and to his community and lived his life to the fullest, taking advantage of every opportunity to better the lives of those around him. Although he will be missed, he will be fondly remembered as the founder of a family bound together by his love and devoted to the service of others.
His funeral is Monday, April 7th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 10:00 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, April 6th from 3:00 until 5:00 PM in the funeral home.
