Michael Stephen Arnold, 51, of Gales Ferry, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at home. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Robin (Cunha) Arnold.
He was born September 14, 1962 in Westerly, RI, the son of Hazel (Cushman) Matey of Ledyard and the late Grover Arnold.
Michael worked at Amtrak as a Ticket Clerk which involved working in many different departments.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. A recent hobby of his was working to restore an old boat. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by four children: daughter Jennifer Arnold of Groton, son Ryan Parker of Mystic, daughter Ashley Parker of Vegas NV, and son James Parker of Gales Ferry. He is also survived by his brothers Tommy Kores of Killingworth, Brennan Dobbins of Washington State, and Tim Arnold of Ledyard, as well as his step-father Eddy Matey of Ledyard. His sister, Linda Bennett, predeceased him.
He was a warm, loving husband and a kind, caring and compassionate father. He will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 5, 15 1:00pm at the Tribal Longhouse, 391-R Norwich-Westerly Road, North Stonington, directly behind the Holly Green Shopping Center. Family and friends are invited to attend. A potluck reception will follow and all are encouraged to bring a dish to share.
