Obituary

Teresa (Lavelle) Pollard of Marshfield Hills, MA, on March 31, 2014. Born in 1930, Teresa was the daughter of the late Philip and Beatrice Lavelle. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, Lyle H. Pollard.
Teresa was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Holyoke, MA, class of 1948. After graduation, she worked for New England Telephone as an administrative assistant in their Holyoke office. In 1955, Teresa married Lyle Pollard, a naval aviator. Together, they made homes in New Jersey, Maryland and Massachusetts, where they raised their ten children. Mrs. Pollard was a life-long student of history and enjoyed researching family genealogy, often making her research the focal point for trips throughout the United States and abroad. Later in life, Lyle and Teresa celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to China, fulfilling Teresa’s childhood dream of visiting the Far East. Above all, Teresa and Lyle enjoyed welcoming family and friends to their home in Marshfield Hills. They cherished large holiday gatherings and long summer visits with their seventeen grandchildren.
