Obituary

EASLEY, SC/DUDLEY – Andrew C. “Andy” Jedrzynski, 82, formerly of Dudley, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at his home after an illness.
He leaves a sister, Mary Ann Armstrong of Sturbridge; 3 children, Cheryl Flirt and her husband David of Nevada, Dr. Michael Jedrzynski and his wife Karen of California, and Pamela L. Jedrzynski of Easley; 3 grandchildren, Nicole and John Jedrzynski and Haleigh Hernandez; 2 step-grandsons, DJ Flirt and Justin Flirt; a great-granddaughter, Aurelia Hernandez; a niece, Angela Piekarczyk and her husband Gary; 2 nephews, Carl Armstrong and his companion Brigitte Esposito, and John Armstrong and his wife Christine; 4 great-nieces and great-nephews; and his best friend, Jimmy Roper of Easley. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Isbill.
He was born and raised in Dudley, the son of Andrew and Jennie (Nowak) Jedrzynski. He graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster in 1949. He lived in California for many years before moving to South Carolina 12 years ago.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He served in Korea for 15 months and was discharged with the rank of sergeant. He belonged to the 2nd Infantry Division Korean War Veterans’ Alliance. He was awarded two bronze stars.
Mr. Jedrzynski worked as a sales representative for McKesson & Robbins Pharmaceuticals for many years. He then sold fire department products.
He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pickens, SC. He devoted his life to his family, his church and his country. He was a sports fan and enjoyed nature.
A memorial Mass was held Wednesday, March 26, in Saint Luke’s Catholic Church, in Easley, SC.
A graveside service will be held at noon on Wednesday, April 23, in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. The Webster-Dudley Veterans Council will provide the military honors. The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 22, in the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, where a service will be held at 7:00 PM with the Rev. Gregory Jednacki officiating.
