Domenica Agliata of Somerville died on Monday, March 31, in the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. Born in Italy, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Angelina (Volpe) Emmanuele. Domenica moved to Boston's West End, then settled in Somerville where she lived for over 50 years.
She was the beloved wife of the late Guiseppe Agliata and devoted mother of Ann Inserra and her husband Vincent, Angela Volpe and her husband Gerlando, Tommy Agliata and his wife Lisa. Domenica was the loving grandmother of Pia, Lisa, Michelle, Theresa, Marianne, Melissa, Joseph and Tommy, and the loving great grandmother of Isabella, Julianna, Alexandra, Dominic, Olivia, Gracie and Nadia. She was the sister of Grace Graziella and her husband Eduardo, Giussipina Volpe and her late husband Alfonso, the late Alfonso Emmanuele and his wife Alfonsa, the late Maria Lobrutto and her husband Calogero. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Thursday, April 3 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford Street, Somerville, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 - 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
